We spoke yesterday about NBCSN's college hockey schedule, with the announcement that they would air games from the Hockey East conference in addition to many of conference member Notre Dame's home games. They also have a Harvard/Yale showdown at Madison Square Garden later in the year as part of their slate of telecasts.

Now, we have another addition to the NBCSN/college hockey family. The network has agreed to a deal with the Big Ten conference to present five of the fledgling league's hockey games. All six teams in the conference will appear as part of this season's schedule, with Wisconsin debuting with a non-conference game on Dec. 13.

NBCSN is slated to air about 25 college hockey games as part of a Friday night package this season. However, four of these Big Ten games will air on Saturday nights, expanding the network's reach in the sport even further. It was also announced earlier in the week that two women's hockey (USA-Canada) games will be aired on Friday and Saturday nights this season as part of NBC's Olympic Trials coverage.

NBCSN appears to be building a robust schedule of collegiate hockey. On the Big Ten's side, they now have contracts to broadcast games on ESPN and NBC-affiliated networks, with BTN providing the bulk of the coverage of the conference's debut season.
