Knicks guard J.R. Smith was fined $25,000 by the league after getting into a Twitter war with Pistons guard Brandon Jennings.

Jennings' initial tweet was in reference to Smith's brother Chris being on an NBA roster, and the elder Smith responded by defending his brother and then tweeting the now-deleted, ""Might call some of my Number street homies an put #Detroit on smash for a min! #DeadSerious". Oh, well isn't that pleasant?

This isn't the first time Smith has gotten into trouble on Twitter. In February, he turned "you trying to get the pipe?" into a fabulous meme, and in March of 2011, he was fined $25,000 by the NBA for tweeting out an explicit picture of a woman. Maybe it's time for J.R to step away from Twitter, because he's doing a great job of single handedly making the NBA enforce their Twitter policy.
