TSN SportsCentre anchors Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole appear to be the first anchors hired for Fox Sports One. A report surfaced earlier today from Toronto Sports Media signaling that the popular duo would be leaving TSN for Fox, and a press release from TSN confirmed the news but kept Fox's name out of it, instead saying that the pair would be "heading to Los Angeles for exciting new broadcast opportunities on U.S. television."

The LA-Fox connection is pretty obvious as that's where Fox is based and both ESPN and NBC Sports Network have studios in Connecticut. ESPN does have a Los Angeles studio, but this move has Fox's fingerprints all over it. (A source also tells AA the pair's destination is Fox.)

Onrait and O'Toole have fantastic chemistry along with plenty of experience anchoring a national telecast, and would be great fits for Fox Sports One's nightly highlight show that will serve as a competitor to SportsCenter on ESPN. If you don't believe me, check out this "best of" video on Youtube that shows off the pair's comedic skills.

Onrait and O'Toole will continue anchoring SportsCentre on TSN until the end of June. They'll likely be ready to roll for the Fox Sports One launch in mid-August.

Fox Sports officially declined comment to Awful Announcing.
