Jacoby Jones got his wish. This year's sports-related contestant on ABC's Dancing with the Stars will be none other than the wide receiver from the Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens, who lobbied for a spot on the dance competition on Jimmy Kimmel Live after the victory. The announcement was made in a commercial break during Sunday night's Academy Awards ceremony.

The official announcement will be coming on Tuesday, along with the rest of the cast for the show. Jones, who had a breakout, Pro Bowl year for the Ravens in 2012, is due a $3 million salary in 2013 for the cap-crunched Ravens, and it'll be interesting to see if his taking part in the show could have an effect on his future wtih Baltimore.

Now, why was Jones targeted by the show? Well, I'd assume it has a lot to do with his touchdown dances following a pair of scores in the Super Bowl, turning himself into a household name with that performance. Out of all the athletes that have appeared on Dancing With the Stars in the past, Jones may be the first to actually get an invite to the show based on his dancing ability. Now it's only a matter of time before the NFL bans every touchdown dance whatsoever to make sure it never happens again.
