After New Jersey Governor Chris Christie went on WFAN and called New York Daily News beat writer Manish Mehta a "dope" the paper repsonded with this cover today. Charming, isn't it? So now we have a newspaper and a state governor embroiled in a 3rd grade name calling contest over a crappy NFL team. Somehow this combines many of the things that reflect poorly on our current media climate – exhaustive 24/7 news cycles, media outlets becoming the story, quarterback controversies, childish name-calling, political bickering… the only thing seemingly missing is Skip Bayless arguing for the Jets to trade for Tim Tebow.
