The NCAA Baseball Tournament doesn't get nearly as much love as its basketball counterpart, but the 64 team field is heaven for baseball junkies. ESPN and its various offshoot channels will be airing up to the maximum 153 games, from the Regionals this weekend to the College World Series later in June.
ESPN will also be launching a companion program on ESPN3 (which will be simulcast at times on ESPN2 and ESPNU) called Bases Loaded, airing from May 31 to June 3 for between six and 11 hours per day. Bases Loaded will essentially function like the NFL RedZone Network, whipping around to various games and providing analysis along with live look-ins. Anish Shroff and Dari Nowkhah will be the anchors of Bases Loaded, while Kyle Peterson will serve as the analyst.
Now, a word of warning to fans out there: you're not going to see every game on your basic cable package. Only eight of the 16 regionals will be aired on ESPN2 or ESPNU (along with ESPN3), and the other eight will be aired exclusively on ESPN3. It's not the ideal situation for NCAA baseball junkies, but it's at least a start after ESPN took a huge step forward with their college baseball coverage in 2013.
