ESPN sure is being kind and generous to their competitors with free advertising. First they inadvertently ran a graphic promoting the Stanley Cup Final on NBC Sports Network during a US Open simulcast. Then last night this graphic promoting the arrival of Fox Sports 1 ran while ESPN was bouncing around local MLB coverage. These things happen thanks to the minutia of television rights, but it's still a quirky, ironic occurence.
If you're at the controls at a Fox Sports regional network, why wouldn't you run this graphic every pitch if you knew ESPN was simulcasting your game? It's a not so subtle way to tell ESPN viewers another alternative for their business is coming.
