After teasing that they were going off the map, College GameDay is heading to an FCS school for the first time since 2008 next weekend:

While five years is a long time to stray from I-AA/FCS schools, ESPN will be in Fargo to jump right back in for Delaware State vs. North Dakota State and is passing on FBS games such as Notre Dame/Michigan State and Florida/Tennessee to do so.

Here's more from College Football Talk:

Saturday morning, ESPN‘s wildly popular College GameDay show announced Chris, Corso, Desmond, Herbie et al will be headed to Fargo, North Dakota, next Saturday and will be on campus for the Delaware State-North Dakota State game.  That’s right, GameDay will originate from the grounds of an FCS football program.

This will mark the first time since 2008 (Florida A&M) that GameDay will originate from a non-FBS campus.

This is no slight to either school — NDSU is the unanimous No. 1 team in FCS football and knocked off Kansas State in the opener — but what does going to Fargo say about how far the Tennessee-Florida rivalry has fallen in the national consciousness?

North Dakota State is considered "the Alabama of the FCS" and has won the past two championships, so if you think about it, ESPN isn't straying too far from the norm in keeping its focus on champions. Actually, passing on Notre Dame is starting to make a lot more sense right now.

I can't wait to see Lee Corso try and reenact a scene from the movie for his picks segment. Hopefully he doesn't use the woodchipper though…
