Clay Travis is polarizing. Either you like him or you don't. There's no doubt that he's successful in getting eyeballs and that he has his fans. Knowing this, Fox Sports 1 reached out to the writer to become a part of its new college football pregame show that will air opposite ESPN's College GameDay. On Monday, Travis made the official announcement on his site that he will join host Erin Andrews and Eddie George and other castmates to be named later.

In his column announcing his FS1 hiring, Travis made the following statement:

"So far Erin Andrews and Eddie George are the only two individuals who are announced on the show. I have a very good relationship with both — particularly Erin who was instrumental in getting me on the show — and can't wait for the season to get here."

So he has "a very good relationship" with Andrews and she lobbied for Travis? We remember his 2009 AOL Fanhouse column on Erin which our own Andrew Bucholtz cited in his article on Mr. Travis last week. Andrew also pointed out that Travis has had Andrews on his radio show, so perhaps they do have "a very good relationship" as he states.

It's well-known Travis isn't afraid to shy away from a controversial opinion. Whether that will be enough to draw viewers away from College GameDay is the $1,000,000 question, but with Fox Sports 1 currently having some clearance hurdles, that won't be an issue right away.

We await this pregame show. It has the potential to bring some juice to FS1, but if the show is anything like last year's College Football Saturday with Andrews, George and Joey Harrington, there will be a lot of work to do.
