Moving forward, each month here at Awful Announcing we will hope to spotlight the very best in announcing with our Calls of the Month feature.  Below you'll find calls from all around the world of sports – from football to soccer, television to radio, the serious and the comical.  Here's October's Calls of the Month in chronological order…

Tread Lightly

Like millions of Americans, I'm struggling to fill the Heisenberg sized hole in my life.  Thankfully, Breaking Bad fans will always have this series of calls from tennis announcer Kevin Skinner to admire.  Skinner used a match between Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki as his canvas for the ultimate, unconventional Breaking Bad tribute.

The Musburger Cover Special

Ohio State pulled off one of the most dramatic, unconventional covers in college football thanks to a wonky last second touchdown.  Only Brent Musburger could truly understand the gravity of the situation and just how much money was changing hands.

Vin Scully – National Treasure

The Dodgers couldn't make it past the Cardinals in this year's playoffs, but their brief run did allow us to enjoy Vin Scully calling postseason baseball one more time.  These were his best calls from LA's NLDS clincher over Atlanta.

Unicorns! Show ponies! Where's the beef!

Patriots radio analyst Scott Zolak gave us one of the most memorable NFL calls of the season for Tom Brady's game winning touchdown in the last seconds against the Saints by shouting random words and phrases that somehow magically all came together.

God Bless America!

On the final night of World Cup Qualifying, the United States saved archrival Mexico with a stoppage time goal from Graham Zusi against Panama.  Mexico needed the US victory thanks to their loss at Costa Rica at the same time.  The incredible series of events led to one of the strangest sights in the history of sports – Mexican announcers celebrating a United States goal and shouting "We love you!  God Bless America!"

Oh no!

Sometimes the best calls are the most simple, most immediate reaction in the moment.  Missouri shockingly missed a 24 yard FG to keep their game against South Carolina going in double overtime.  With the Tessitore Effect in full… well, effect, Joe Tess let out an "Oh no!" that seemed perfect for the occasion.

Lex Luthor! Lex Luthor!

USMNT star Michael Bradley scored a game winning goal for Roma in Italian's Serie A.  That led an Italian radio announcer to go to an octave level unseen by any American announcer.  Also, he paid tribute to Bradley's supervillain alter ego.

The Gravity Of The Moon And Planets

Our first Calls of the Month compilation would be incomplete without the genius of beIn Sport's Ray Hudson. It'd be like the stars and planets hurtling out into deep space with no rhyme or reason whatsoever.  Consider it our own pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

And best of all, you get to vote for the Call of the Month!
