Brian Kenny will be making his return to radio as part of NBC Sports Radio's all day sports talk format, launching on April 1st the network will announce. The Brian Kenny Show will run from 9 AM to noon from Monday through Friday, and be preceded by The Erik Kuselias Show from 6 to 9 AM. Kenny's show will serve as the lead-in to Voices of the Game with Newy Scruggs, featuring Chipper Jones as a regular guest host among others.

Kenny left ESPN to join MLB Network in September of 2011, and his radio show was a casualty of that departure. While Kenny has been one of MLB Network's best on-air talents since joining them a year and a half ago, his mainstream appeal has waned a bit away from the mothership. However, the return of his radio show is something that could immediately thrust him back into the consciousness of fans again. The show also will be a bit different from the typical morning sports talk you've come to expect over the years as Kenny's show will combine interviews with in-depth analysis. Kenny's more analytical style will create an interesting alternative for radio listeners.

The airwaves are getting a big crowded now with NBC Sports Radio's full rollout, the full rollout of CBS Sports Radio earlier this year, and the established behemoths of ESPN Radio and Fox Sports Radio. It'll be interesting to see if NBC can catch on at all on the radio side and make an imprint their cable sports network has struggled to find thus far.
