Much to my horror, I was flipping through channels last night and saw this horrifying creature on ESPN's Baseball Tonight.  It's a giant, happy glove who looks to be the villain of a Stephen King novel… or a misplaced Yo Gabba Gabba character.  The mascot is WebGem Jimmy and he has featured in a commercial for Baseball Tonight.

I can't say I'm an avid viewer of Baseball Tonight, so I'm not sure how new of a character WebGem Jimmy is, but seeing him has ensured I won't be an avid viewer anytime soon.  Did we not learn anything from the disaster that was Scooter?  Ridiculously cheerful mascots are no way to bring the game to new fans.
