The perils of doing a live shot from a hotel lobby is that you just never know what will happen. People are walking in the background and there's the danger that a straggler will walk up to start waving at the camera. That's exactly what happened today on MLB Network which was live from the Baseball Winter Meetings in Orlando.

As Ken Rosenthal was doing his reports for MLB Network's Hot Stove show from the lobby of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort, up stepped new Boston Red Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski to wave at the camera. Pierzynski then walked away as if nothing happened.

Co-hosts Matt Vasgersian and Harold Reynolds caught on and laughed immediately. Being the true professional, Rosenthal continued without missing a beat and then turned to look and saw Pierzynski. Ken called him over and asked him two questions before throwing him off camera.

It was one of those classic live TV moments. Rosenthal took it in stride and laughed about it. Now if Pierzynski could do this to the ESPN crew while he's in Florida ….
