The annual MLB All Star Game is a huge tradition among baseball fans, but trying to enjoy that tradition can be somewhat difficult at times especially when you know beforehand that Tim McCarver and Joe Buck are going to be calling the game.
A promo video (after the jump) featuring the two hosts emerged from the MLB Fan Cave and the whole premise of the commercial is a blooper reel of sorts.
The first blooper consists of McCarver looking confused by the “new fangled tweet technology talk dangnabbit” while the second take is McCarver taking a creepy and misplaced opportunity to ask 20 year old Kate Upton to “call him.” McCarver is 70. Ewwww.
But another take actually has good ol’ McCarver handing off the line “that’s a clown question bro” to Buck pretty darn well. His delivery was even better and ended the scene by walking off with a disgusted look on his face.
It’s a nice attempt by Fox to sort of humanize these guys a bit, but perhaps the route to take is just a play on every single thing fans make fun of you about. Then you would be more likely to tune into broadcasts with these two.
