Well, R.A. Dickey’s knuckleballing scoreless inning streak finally came to an end last night. That was fun while it lasted, wasn’t it? At least ESPN was able to promote the Subway Series as something that “didn’t feel like a regular season game,” whatever that means. At least there was a somewhat compelling baseball story not involving Albert Pujols’ lack of home runs or Bobby Valentine’s lack of common sense. Somehow though we now find ourselves rapidly approaching the All-Star break. On Sunday, TBS hosts the All-Star Selection Show. Although Charlie Sheen won’t be on set as he was in the FOX booth over the weekend, you can bet there will be enough Men at Work promos to make up for it. Highlights of the week on the field include the first-place Yankees against the scrappy Indians and the Tigers at Tampa Bay.
