So yeah, Metta World Peace is starring in a Lifetime movie produced by Nancy Grace. It's an adaptation of a book Grace wrote called — naturally — "The Eleventh Victim."

Here's what the forward formerly known as Ron Artest told XX Sports Radio in San Diego (via yours truly at SportsRadioInterviews) about the role, which he landed after appearing with Grace on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars":

“I’m definitely a big part of it. I’m one of the lead actors in the movie. It’s a two-hour movie. And I don’t know how I got a chance to have a lead role so fast."

And courtesy of CosbySweaters.com, here's a preview clip of the film, which premieres Saturday:

MWP wants to do this full time and says he's been acting quite a bit lately, but he probably shouldn't quit his day job preemptively. Maybe I was watching the clip with a bias, but for me it was 112 seconds of awkwardness. The problem with MWP is that he looks too much like a freakin' basketball player. The acting is terrible, too, of course, but the dude is just too big and tall for that role.

It sorta feels like when Kareem Abdul Jabbar played a pilot on "Airplane." Except this time, it isn't a deliberate joke.
