With a berth in the Final Four on the line, Louisville put together a furious second half rally to overcome a double digit deficit and defeat Florida 72-68 in the West Regional Final.  In the final 16 seconds, Florida found themselves down 3 with the ball and looking for a chance to tie.  That’s why it was so strange when Kevin Harlan called both Bradley Beal and Kenny Boynton’s three point attempts “for the lead!!!

Harlan’s one of the best in terms of being on top of the game situation, so it was surprising for him to make such a glaring error.  Perhaps he either lost track of the score or something was off in the booth or on the scoreboard.  Something similar happened once before with Harlan, albeit with much more hysterical results in 2010.

It would have been worse for Harlan and CBS had either of the three pointers actually went in for Florida.  Instead, Louisville eventually was fouled up 3 and Harlan was able to come back and quickly correct himself after making the mistake.  Harlan is without doubt one of the top basketball play by play men on television, but this certainly wasn’t his best and created quite the quizzical moment for viewers at home.  Perhaps being paired with Len Elmore and Reggie Miller for two straight weekends finally got to him…
