Former Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader Sarah Jones, the same one who admittedly had sex with an underage student, has scored her own reality TV show, Radar is reporting.

To the shock of no one, it will be produced by the same production company that created Jersey Shore.  Because we don’t have enough trashy reality TV?  Because the Real Housewives of (insert city here) and 16 and Pregnant aren’t giving us enough mind-numbing garbage?

This is an AWFUL idea.  Jones is blatantly being rewarded for committing statutory rape.  What is her show going to focus on?  Her “relationship” with now 18-year old Cody York?  Her trying to justify what she did? Her journey of reformation?

What message is this sending?  It’s bad enough we (and by “we” I mean everyone but myself) had to watch The Situation, Snookie, JWoww and whoever else get paid an ungodly amount of money to be drunk, fighting, and naked (usually at the same time), but now someone has decided to glorify this woman’s illegal activity and tie a nice pretty bow on it (hopefully with a prescription of Valtrex to go with it).

It’s extremely disconcerting that Jones is gallivanting around telling her story and making money and fame off of it.  Jones’ story is a Lifetime movie waiting to happen – and maybe that’s what she’s going for, and there will always be a sucker willing to pay her for whatever reason.
