This past year we expanded AA’s staple, the Pammies, to the NFL with Straight Outta Stockton and the Dickies.  So why wait until the fall comes around to chronicle the best, funniest, and strangest announcer quotes?  Why not take another step for the advancement of humankind and bring the Pammies to March Madness and combine the energy of two of the biggest forces in sports?  If that sounds a little overdramatic, well, deal with it.

And who better to pay tribute to with our March Madness version of the Pammies than the man that called the Final Four from 1975-2008, and ruffled a few feathers along the way, the one and only Billy Packer.  The Billy Packer Chronicles (affectionately known as the Billies… you’re welcome Packers fans) will work the same way our other weekly chronicles do.

Leave us the announcer and analyst quotes in the comments below or tweet them to us at @awfulannouncing and/or by using the hashtag #BPAA.  Each round of the tournament will mean a new poll so this week there will be three rounds of voting – First Four (Tuesday/Wednesday), Second Round (Thursday/Friday), and Third Round (Saturday/Sunday).  Don’t forget that it’s not just the game announcers but studio personalities, radio announcers, and anyone talking college basketball that is elligible… even President Obama and UK Prime Minister David Cameron, who will be interviewed Tuesday night by Clark Kellogg.  At the end of March Madness, which announcer will have their one shining moment as the winner of the Billy Packer Chronicles?
