Today begins the road to Dallas and Super Bowl XLV with Wild Card Weekend.  It’s two games on Saturday and two games on Sunday to decide who gets to travel to Chicago, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, and New England.  Jets/Colts and Packers/Eagles are your premier matchups for Wild Card Weekend, but all should be worth watching… including my Saints as an uncomfortably huge road favorite in Seattle.  The NFL games for the weekend are below and you can check out the full playoffs schedule compiled by Brian Powell here.

Saturday 4:30 – Saints @ Seahawks, NBC, Tom Hammond & Mike Mayock
Saturday 8:00 – Jets @ Colts, NBC, Al Michaels & Cris Collinsworth
Sunday 1:00 – Ravens @ Chiefs, CBS, Jim Nantz & Phil Simms
Sunday 4:30 – Packers @ Eagles, Fox, Joe Buck & Troy Aikman

From an announcing perspective, I’ll be interested to see Mike Mayock get his chance on a national NFL broadcast.  He received good reviews for his work on Notre Dame football with Tom Hammond and is one of the most respected analysts on television.  How NFL Network passed him over for the craptastic combo of Matt Millen and Joe Theismann remains stupefying.  Elsewhere, it’s the three network “A” teams, which means the first of 4 straight weeks of Joe Buck, America!  Comment and discuss on the games, the announcing, and whatever else is on your mind below.  Happy Playoffs!
