The road to Dallas is completed today with Championship Sunday. First up, the Bears host the archrival Packers at 3:00 ET on Fox and the Jets travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers at 6:30. As always, Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will have the call on Fox while Jim Nantz and Phil Simms are on the mics at CBS. For a shameless plug, you can check out how each pair faired in our NFL broadcasting grades by checking out our NFL Broadcasting Manifesto. Come on, you know you’re already tired of the endless pregame… although I am anxious to hear about the science of how Devin Hester matches up with a live bear on ESPN’s NFL Countdown. Maybe he’ll be more successful than former hot dog champ Takeru Kobayashi when he got blown out by a bear on Fox’s legendary Man vs Beast special. By the way, while I’m on this ridiculous tangent, one of my favorite ever broadcasting lines came from Carl Lewis during the sprinter vs zebra race when one of his keys was “Does the zebra know it’s in a race?” Why hasn’t this become a regular series?? Oh yea, the open thread… enjoy the games and discuss the football, the announcing, and your memories of Man vs Beast while enjoying this video of a live bear and Kobayashi eating hot dogs. What a country we live in…
