Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews, a 24-year-old tromboner and trumpeter from New Orleans, played the familiar NFL on NBC theme song on his trombone today, getting fans in the area pumped up for tomorrow’s Saints/Vikings game and another season of football on NBC. It was put up as a twitvid on NBC’s twitter page a few hours ago.
Who is Trombone Shorty, you ask? Well, whoever he is, he did a great job planting the catchy theme song in my head and forcing me to whistle it every few minutes for the last couple hours. I figure if I’m stuck here rehearsing the intro non-stop, you should at least be challenged to not do the same after hearing it (below).
