Today’s Houston Texans-New York Jets game at New Meadowlands Stadium was quite the crazy one. After it appeared the Jets were going to lose after blowing a 16-point lead in the fourth quarter, Mark Sanchez led a terrific drive in the final minute that ended with a Santonio Holmes touchdown reception, and ultimately a Jets win.
Even a fan got into the crazy action on the field! With five minutes to go in the third quarter, a fully clothed(thankfully) man went sprinting across the field, and right across the CBS television broadcast. The Jets’ players and coaches got a good laugh out of it, but CBS color commentator Dan Dierdorf certainly did not.
Dierdorf sounded like Joe Buck while he went on about how much of a moron the guy is, how stupid it was, how the guy will rightfully spend the night in jail, etc. I don’t disagree with any of that; It’s EXTREMELY stupid to run on the field. It’s a guaranteed ticket to jail, and usually includes an ass-crushing tackle from security guards. BUT, I think it’s hilarious to watch, and it’s not me going to jail, so what the hell do I care?
