The video of the roof of the Metrodome caving in is one of the most stunning pieces of footage that I’ve seen in quite some time.  To actually get this on film is extraordinary, and it seems as if Fox was ready for it.  From USA Today:

But Fox videotape operator Randy Carr, said Zyontz, heard from a Metrodome staffer that “this was a real problem.” With a camera and mikes left on overnight, says Zyontz, “we knew what we were looking for. This was specifically for that roof collapsing.”

So yea, basically Fox was looking to get the roof collapse on tape and succeeded.  It’s great journalism but here’s the question nobody is asking… why build a stadium with an inflatable teflon roof in Minnesota where heavy snow is likely to pile on top of it??
