The reaction of the Auburn faithful to the hiring of Gene Chizik as head coach has been nothing short of an overwhelming tide of bile directed at athletic director Jay Jacobs. Track ‘Em Tigers has been in shock and the commenters at the Birmingham News sports section are livid.
Jacobs even got heckled at the airport as he walked over to take some questions from a reporter.
