Darren Rovell has always been one of the best reads on the Internet, but lately CNBC has been using him for television spots as well. His latest trip was to Secaucus, New Jersey to take a look inside the MLB Network’s new studio, and to interview MLB-N President, Tony Petitti. Here is the clip….

I never even thought about the local TV angle when it comes to airing games. It’s already going to be tough for a league specific network to succeed, but when you take that into account, it makes it even tougher. The NFL Network benefited early on from being the only outlet available, but the same won’t be the case for the MLB Network.

With everyone already basically trained to head to ESPN for Baseball Tonight, it’ll be interesting to see if people give another network a shot.
